Thor confronts Loki and prevents him from carrying out his plan in a pivotal battle. However, while attempting to escape, Loki slips and falls into a cosmic abyss. As the new king, Thor makes a promise to defend both Earth and Asgard.

"Thor" presents key components of the Wonder universe, including the idea of different domains, the force of Mjolnir, and the mind boggling connection among Thor and Loki. The movie sets the stage for Thor and his allies' subsequent adventures in subsequent films and the MCU as a whole.
