Plot:
John Wick, a retired hitman grieving Helen's death, is introduced at the beginning of the film. John receives a puppy named Daisy as a posthumous present from Helen to help him cope with her death after her funeral.
Iosef Tarasov, the son of Russian mob boss Viggo Tarasov, sees John Wick's old car at a gas station one day and says he wants to buy it. John kindly declines. John is brutally beaten after Iosef and his gang break into his house that night and steal his car. They likewise kill Daisy.
John Wick is devastated and furious when he learns that Iosef is the son of Viggo and a member of a powerful criminal organization. Unbeknownst to them, they have stirred the amazing professional killer inside him.
John goes to Aurelio, a friend and proprietor of a chop shop, to get his car back. John's determination grows even stronger when Aurelio reveals that Iosef is Viggo's son.
John consults with his old friend Winston, the owner of the exclusive Continental Hotel, which acts as a neutral ground for assassins. John learns from Winston that Viggo has placed a $2 million bounty on his head, making him the target of every city assassin.
